NHN's MISSION, Guidelines and bylaws

Mission Statement: NHN serves local community needs by providing a helping hand primarily through our membership’s voluntary work force and secondarily with financial resources. We aspire to promote a path to self-sufficiency and empower others to live a life of dignity. 

 

Guiding Principles:

  • 100% volunteer, non-paid member organization.
  • Individual donations are 100% passed through to identified beneficiaries.
  • Maximize outcomes by providing a combination of both human and financial resources when possible.
  • Beneficiaries and/or beneficiaries projects are nominated and presented by members for consideration and approval or rejection by vote of the membership in attendance.
  • Member approved projects will generally assign nominating member as the project manager unless nominating members is unable or unwilling to lead.
  • Make best efforts to vet eligibility of beneficiaries.

Who NHN's Serves

Area of service: Scottsdale / Phoenix 

Primary Beneficiaries:

  • U.S. Veterans and first responders in hardship
  • At risk and disadvantaged Children
  • Families of our primary


What we do:

  • Increase the effectiveness of established community organization with beneficiary alignment via providing manpower and funding support based upon availability.
  • Provide a safety net of last resort.


What we are not:

  • A duplication or alternative to local or national resources
  • Any part of a national effort
  • A front line resource
  •  A substitute for an individual’s personal resources to include financial and/or alternative stand-ins for able family members
